Santa Clara Family Health Plan to celebrate 25 years of service to the community with Health for All: A Community Health Event, a free resource and screening event

SAN JOSE – Oct. 17, 2022 – This year, Santa Clara Family Health Plan (SCFHP) is celebrating 25 years of providing access to affordable, quality health care to Santa Clara county residents. On Saturday, Oct. 22, SCFHP invites our community to join us in that celebration as we host Health for All: A Community Health Event.
What: Health for All: A Community Health Event
When: Saturday, Oct. 22, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: SCFHP Blanca Alvarado Community Resource Center (CRC)

SCFHP will issue a special announcement during a brief ceremony at noon.
The event is free and open to the public. Members of the media are invited to attend. Interviews with SCFHP’s CEO, Christine M. Tomcala, will be available upon request.
The fair will include
- Free health screenings (e.g., blood pressure, glucose, skin health assessments, dermatology), STD/STI, vision, dental, and more)
- Free vaccines – Flu and COVID-19
- A free Zumbathon starting at 9:30 a.m.
- Games and prizes
- Free housing, food, and health care resources
- Cultural performances representing the rich diversity of East San José
SCFHP is working with 24 local partners to offer free health screenings, vaccines, health and wellness activities, cultural performances and more! Among the organizations offering services are SCFHP’s partners Bay Area Community Health (BACH) and the Santa Clara County Public Health Department, and local community-based organizations such as ICAN, On Lok, Second Harvest Food Bank, Healthier Kids Foundation, and more. And lastly, the event will feature a one-of-a-kind Health Pavilion inviting the community to learn more about SCFHP in a friendly interactive setting with games and prizes (while supplies last).
