Prepare your patients for any emergency
California is prone to many emergencies, among them heat, flood, wildfires, and earthquakes. Make sure your vulnerable patients are prepared and that you know how to assist them during an emergency.
Your patients should be prepared with:
- A 3-month supply of medications
- The durable medical equipment (DME) they need
- A contingency plan for unexpected power shutoffs that impact DME and medication that require refrigeration
- Someone that they can call in case of emergency
Medical Baseline program
PG&E offers rate reductions and extra outreach during public safety power shutoffs (PSPS) to their Medical Baseline program customers. The program is available to individuals who are dependent on life-support equipment or require special heating or cooling needs for certain medical conditions. Your patients can apply for the program at www.pge.com/medicalbaseline or by calling 1-800-743-5000.
