Free YMCA Healthy Living Day Camp for SCFHP Kids

Santa Clara Family Health Plan (SCFHP) invites you to the Learn to Live Healthy Day Camp hosted by the YMCA and sponsored by SCFHP. The day camp will focus on physical activity and proper nutrition for diabetes prevention. Participants will learn the importance of being active and eating healthy, all while having fun and meeting new friends. Eligible SCFHP Medi-Cal members can register for one free week of the Learn to Live Healthy Day Camp.

Priority will be given to children ages 5 – 15 who meet one or more of the listed criteria:

  • Overweight with BMI percentile greater than or equal to 80-85%
  • Family history of type 2 diabetes
  • First degree relative with type 2 diabetes (parent or sibling)
  • Ethnic background is at a higher risk for type 2 diabetes (i.e. African Americans, Hispanics, and Native Americans)
