Childhood immunizations during the pandemic
Provider news | Monday, June 1, 2020
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend that childhood immunizations continue to be prioritized during the COVID-19 pandemic. Here are some helpful tips for you and your practice:
- If your practice can only provide limited well-child visits, prioritize newborn care and vaccination of infants and young children (through 24 months of age) when possible.
- Separate well-visits from sick visits, such as booking well-visits in the morning and sick visits in the afternoon.
- Separate patients spatially (e.g., contain sick visits to one area).
