| Starting in mid-September, our members will start carrying cards that look different from the old cards. Two changes to the ID cards are being implemented because SCFHP has a new pharmacy benefits management (PBM) company, MedImpact.
The first change is the addition of MedImpact's contact information on the back of all SCFHP plan membership cards, for all lines of business, as shown in Fig. 1.
The second change is for Healthy Families and MediCal members. Each Healthy Families and MediCal member's ID card will carry two account numbers. This is temporary while we transition to a new information system. We will recognize both sets of numbers during this transition period. The new number, shown as "ID #2," is the account number that MedImpact's system will recognize. Please see Figs. 2 and 3, below. We are retaining "ID #1" on the Healthy Families and MediCal cards so that member information can be accessed using either number during the transition to the new information system.
We are able to switch the Healthy Kids member numbers immediately, so only one account number appears on the Healthy Kids ID cards. That number "ID #2" can be used for accessing all member information. See Fig. 4.
