Benefit Summary

At SCFHP, we recognize that employees have different needs and different lifestyles. That's why we provide a customized benefit package so that individuals can make choices to meet their particular needs. Our benefits include:

  • Health Care: SCFHP sponsors premiums for employees and eligible dependents, within guidelines, up to pre-set limits
    • Medical
      • 4 plans are available: 2 HMOs and 2 PPOs
    • Vision
      • Services are available through VSP
    • Dental
      • 2 plans are available: 1 HMO and 1 PPO; both are DeltaDental
  • Savings Bonus: $175 per month for employees who do not enroll dependents in medical coverage
  • Flex Compensation: Available to each employee to purchase additional benefits
  • Sec. 125 Cafeteria Plan: Tax Shelter for Health Care (to $2,000) and Dependent Care expenses (to $5,000)
  • Personal Time Off (PTO): All Vacation, Personal, and Sick Time
    • 120 hours per year for Non-Exempt staff
    • 160 hours per year for Exempt staff
  • PTO Cash Out: Cash-out of PTO available once per calendar year, per company policy
  • Paid Holidays: 11 per calendar year
  • Floating Holidays: Up to 3 per calendar year
  • 9/80 Program: Allows for 1 day off every 2 weeks; eligibility based on business needs
  • Retirement:
    • PERS Program: Automatic enrollment: replaces Social Security; 5 years to vest
      • Employee contributes 7% of annual earnings
      • Employer contributes approximately 9% - 11% of employee’s annual earnings
    • 401A Elective Participation: 2 years to vest
      • Employee contributes 6% of annual earnings
      • Employer contributes 3% of employee’s annual earnings
    • 457 Deferred Compensation: Elective Participation: up to $15,000 for year 2006
  • Group Insurance:
    • Life: $50,000; premiums paid by SCFHP
    • AD&D Insurance: $50,000; premiums paid by SCFHP
    • Long Term Disability: Up to 60% of annual wage; benefit cap may apply; premiums paid by SCFHP
  • Other:
    • Payroll Direct Deposit: Elective Participation
    • Credit Union: Elective Participation in Santa Clara County Federal Credit Union
    • CalPERS: Home Loan Rates and Long-Term Care Insurance available
    • SCFHP University: 18-week comprehensive training for SCFHP employees
    • Education Reimbursement: Up to $2,000 each fiscal year, per company policy

    Employees not commencing employment at the beginning of a calendar year may experience some prorating of accrued benefits.
